Today we are going to look at women's rights in Canada.

1. What was the suffrage movement?
2. Who were the 'Famous Five' Canadian women?
3. What were the challenges they faced in getting the right to vote and be 'people'?
4. When were women given the right to vote in Federal and Provincial elections in Canada?
5. How does Canada compare to (5) other countries in allowing women to vote.
6. How are equal rights today? Are men and women equal today? In what areas are they, in what areas are they not?

7. (opinion question)What, if anything, should be done to create more gender equality in Canadian society?

Please go to the following link and quickly read through what happened to the Buffalo/Bison in the Untied States. This mirrored what happened in Canada.

Next, please go to the bottom of the article, (section 15) and pick ONE of the links. They are similar in some ways to what happened in the US and Canada but are modern day examples. You are to then summarize in your own words what happened, why and the outcome in a couple of paragraphs.
